Children's edu-tainment. Developing the body, mind and heart's of young children through song, movement and multimedia.

12 original songs on good character (Patience, Kindness, Persistence, Gratitude, Courage etc) are being professionally recorded with world class musicians. These songs will be used to encourage, educate and develop social and emotional intelligence in our young children through interactive performance and small group classes with Danibelle. The long term outcomes of the performances and classes can include:

Classes
Age Groups: 3-6yrs:

‘Character Edu-tainment + the Basics’

- Physical Theatre, song and multi-media.

• Active Warm-up
• Concrete concepts (Shapes, numbers, so-fa, opposites etc)
• Social Emotional Intelligence song (Eg Courage, Persistence, Patience etc)
• Where in the World?
• World Music

Children will be taken to Queensland State Library at the end of term and will have the song that they have learned recorded at The Edge recording studio.



Group B: Age Group: 8-12yrs: Choir and recording

• Each class will begin with an active warm-up (physical component).
• Lesson will proceed to discuss good character traits, their meaning,
significance and purpose to success in life.
• Teach 2-3 songs/lesson/term using performance elements and expression.
• Practice with use of microphone and speaker system.
• Introduction to recording process at The Edge, Queensland State Library
• Experience in recording studio recording one song per term.

Musician Biographies

Danielle Rigden: Edu-tainer/Songwriter/Vocalist/Producer

Danielle Rigden is the Founder and Artistic Director of Danibelle’s Musicadium. ‘Danibelle’ has composed a series of songs for children that encourage personal integrity and closer, supportive communities. She will perform her compilation in schools, libraries and at other public areas/community events. Danibelle aspires to spread her message nationally and globally. Danielle Rigden finished her Bachelor of Education in 2000 and has taught in high schools and primary schools for over ten years. While teaching, her role expanded to the writing and development of the school music program as well as facilitating a school wide ‘You Can Do It’ Education program for students’ social and emotional health. Danielle has played over one hundred performances as a professional musician in rural and metropolitan Queensland. In 2007, at her first live performance at Gladstone Entertainment Centre, Danielle won Best Vocalist in the ‘Battle of the Bands’ and third place over all. In 2008/9 she recorded her first album entitled Kissing the Blue Lady. Music career highlights include playing at the Coconet Classic (Boyne Island 2009) and at the Captain Cook 1771 festival.

Danielle has two young children and is combining her loves of music, performance and communication with storytelling to foster children’s social and emotional development.

Rohin Jones: Musical Director/Guitarist/Vocalist

Rohin Jones is a singer, songwriter, composer and guitarist from Townsville North Queensland. As a member of the group "The Middle East" Rohin launched himself from regional Queensland onto the international stage with critical acclaim. The Middle East has received national radio airplay and slots on several major Australian festivals such as Splendour in the Grass, the Big Day Out, Big Sound, Homebake, and the Woodford Folk Festival. As well as this, the band has toured with international bands such as British group Doves. Rohin has composed and played music within a multitude of genres and styles. Elements of country, blues, punk, rock, folk, chamber pop, psych folk, post-rock and ambience. After touring extensively throughout Australia and the world, Rohin has a strong desire to create artistic endeavours and cross-disciplinary collaborations.


Jeremy Williamson: Trumpet artist

As a professional musician, Jeremy Williamson has toured extensively throughout Australia, New Zealand, Europe and America in Symphony Orchestras, Brass Ensembles, Jazz groups and Latin American ensembles. He has played at such events as the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Sydney International Music festival, Barossa International Music Festival, Amsterdam Music Festival, The Hamburg Festival, Montreal International Music Festival, Ten Days on the Island, and as a soloist for the opening of the Brisbane Festival. Jeremy has previously played principal trumpet with the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra; however these days works primarily as a jazz musician in small ensembles, playing lead trumpet in big bands and salsa bands.
As an educator, Jeremy has taught in schools for 15 years. Previously in Queensland as Director of Music at Emmanuel College, he is currently Director of Music and Head of Arts at St Virgil’s College, Hobart.




Chris Pearson: Bass Artist

The world is a stage for Brisbane-based musician Chris Pearson. His
modern innovative bass playing has taken him around the world—20
countries spanning five continents and counting. Playing jazz
festivals, Royal Albert Hall London, Nobel prize awards ceremonies,
downtown and uptown clubs in hipster musical mecca New York City is
all in a day’s work for the Queensland Conservatorium Music graduate
(2005). Pearson’s style ranges from moodily reflective to upbeat
bouncy bass-lines to emotive Motown soul and urban groove.

Moving in diverse musical circles—jazz, classical, house, funk and
pop—Pearson is a skilled bass guitar, double bass and synth bass
player. As an in-demand studio musician he has worked with ARIA award
winning Washington, Misinterprotato, Golden Sounds, Peter Coombe, 60s
pop icon Russell Morris, award-winning jazz artist Mark Scholtez and
more. Pearson has recorded in both his native Australia and
abroad—featuring on the Ten Tenors, Here's to the Heroes' DVD recorded
at world renowned Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, Germany.

The intuitive bass player has conducted master classes throughout
Australian universities and tutors locally in bass when not on the
road. He also writes and performs original material.

Myka Wallace – Percussive Artist

Best known for her live and studio contributions behind the kit for Brisbane’s genre bending Croon Punks - Laneous & The Family Yah, Myka Wallace has also lent her talents to acts as diverse as Emma Louise, Evil Eddie, The Optimen, Texas Tea, Andrew Morris, MKO, Banawurun, Timothy Carroll, Georgia Potter, Brian Campeau, Impossible Odds, Bankrupt Billionaires, Pear & The Awkward Orchestra, Sue Ray, SuperFeather, Well Alrights and Damo Suzuki.
Having first picked up the sticks at 8 years old, Myka is most comfortable on a drum throne. Her forward thinking drumming style has seen her beats compared to those of ?uestlove, Madlib and J Dilla - however, it is her holistic approach to music making and vast knowledge of music history and styles that has seen her transverse styles and genres and marry her numerous playing projects with song writing, arranging and producing music.
